Privacy Policy — Animal Vault
Last updated: February 24, 2026
1. Who we are and how this policy works
This Privacy Policy explains how Animal Vault (“App”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App or any related services that link to this Policy.
The App is operated by DEEPAK VARMA UPPALAPATI (the “Provider”).
By using the App, you agree that we may process your information as described in this Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the App.
You can contact us at:
- Email:
dvusup@gmail.com
2. What the App does
Animal Vault is a farm and livestock management application. It allows you to:
- Create and manage farms and livestock inventory (animals, categories, batches).
- Track purchases, expenses, health records, deaths, and sales.
- Manage stock, procurement, inventory, and finances.
- Receive AI-powered insights (for example, climate risk, health and mortality risk, financial summaries, and stock opportunities).
- Use cloud sync only: you must sign in with a cloud account to use the App and sync your data. There is no offline-only or local-only mode.
Some features are available only to paid subscribers; free-tier use is described in Section 7.
3. Information you provide to us
We collect the information you choose to provide when you:
- Install and use the App.
- Create an account or sign in.
- Enter data into the App (for example, animals, farms, expenses, orders, health records).
- Contact us for support or feedback.
3.1 Account and contact details
If you create an account or sign in, we may collect:
- Name (or display name).
- Email address.
- Authentication data (for example, hashed password or tokens from sign-in providers).
3.2 Farm and livestock data
To provide the core functionality we store data you enter, such as:
- Farm names, locations (high-level, not necessarily GPS), and configuration.
- Livestock information (species, groups/batches, counts, identifiers, status).
- Transactions (purchases, expenses, sales, receivables, payables).
- Health and husbandry records (treatments, vaccinations, deaths, notes).
- Inventory, feed stocks, suppliers, and related details.
This data is primarily stored to provide you with a working farm ledger and analytics.
3.3 Financial information
Animal Vault is not a banking or payments app; we do not collect card numbers or bank-account credentials inside the App itself.
We may store:
- Monetary amounts, currencies, prices, and totals you enter.
- Optional references such as invoice numbers, purchase‑order IDs, and payment status.
This information is used only to show you reports, insights, and reminders about your own records.
3.4 Support and feedback
If you contact us (for example, by email), we may collect:
- Your name and email address.
- The content of your message and any attachments.
We use this solely to respond and improve the App.
4. Information from device permissions
The App may request access to certain device features. Granting these permissions is optional, but some features may not work or may be limited without them.
4.1 Location (approximate and precise)
When you grant location access, we may collect:
- Approximate and/or precise device location (for example, via GPS, Wi‑Fi, or cell towers).
We use this to:
- Show weather‑based climate risk alerts for your livestock.
- Provide location-aware AI insights (for example, seasonal context, local climate patterns).
You can use the App without location permission, but some weather‑aware and AI features will be less accurate or unavailable.
4.2 Camera
When you grant camera access, we may process:
- Images or video frames you capture while using in‑app camera features (for example, animal photos, receipts, tags, or barcodes).
We use this to:
- Attach photos to animals, expenses, and other records.
- Scan barcodes or tags for faster data entry.
We do not access your camera outside of the specific actions you initiate (for example, tapping “Take photo” or “Scan”).
4.3 Photos / media library
When you grant access to your photo library or similar storage:
- We may read only the photos you explicitly select, to attach them to animals, expenses, or other records.
- Where you choose, we may write new images or export files (for example, backups) into your library or storage location.
We do not otherwise scan or index your photo library.
4.4 Notifications
When you enable local or push notifications, we may process:
- A device token (for push, if configured) and notification preferences.
- Scheduling metadata (for example, due dates and reminder types).
We use this to send reminders such as:
- Vaccination and health‑check reminders.
- Feed and inventory alerts.
- Pending payments, order due dates, and monthly expense reminders.
You can adjust notification settings in the App (where provided) and via your device’s system settings.
4.5 Biometrics (Face ID or similar)
When you enable biometric lock (for example, via Face ID or the local_auth plugin):
- We receive from the operating system only the result of the biometric check (success/failure).
- We do not receive or store your biometric template (face/print data); this is managed entirely by your device.
We use biometric results only to lock and unlock sensitive areas in the App (for example, financials or inventory views).
5. Automatically collected technical data
The App may collect limited technical information for diagnostics and analytics, such as:
- Device model, operating system version, App version.
- Basic performance and crash information (for example, via platform-provided crash reporting).
We use this to keep the App stable, secure, and up to date. We do not use this information to build marketing profiles or to track you across unrelated apps.
6. AI insights and your data
The App provides AI‑powered insights (for example, climate risk, mortality risk, financial summaries, and opportunities). These features work by sending structured prompts built from:
- Your own farm, livestock, and financial data.
- Optional context like location‑derived weather summaries.
- System prompts that describe how the AI should respond.
We currently use third‑party AI providers (such as Google Gemini / Google Cloud AI). When you invoke an AI feature, we may send the necessary context to such providers so they can compute a response.
We:
- Limit prompts to the minimum information required to generate the requested insight.
- Use reputable providers that offer contractual data‑protection commitments.
However, AI outputs may contain errors or omissions. AI insights are not professional advice and should be confirmed with qualified veterinarians, agronomists, or financial advisors before making critical decisions.
7. Free tier, subscriptions, and ads
Animal Vault may be offered in tiers, for example:
- A free tier with limited features and AI usage, and ad‑supported.
- One or more paid tiers with additional features, higher AI limits, cloud sync, and no ads.
7.1 Ad‑supported free tier
If you use the free tier:
- The App may display in‑app advertisements.
- We may process limited information to support ad delivery and measurement, such as:
- Basic device information (for example, model, OS version, language).
- Non‑sensitive in‑app context (for example, screen or section currently in use).
- Anonymous metrics like impressions and clicks to understand ad performance.
If we integrate with third‑party ad networks, we will:
- Share only the minimum data required to serve and measure ads.
- Require our partners to protect that data and use it only for ad-related purposes.
We do not sell your personal information as that term is defined in many privacy laws.
7.2 Purchases and billing
Purchases and subscriptions (if offered) are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (and/or a subscription SDK such as RevenueCat). We do not see or store your full payment‑card details; we receive only non-sensitive purchase metadata (for example, product ID, expiration, and entitlement status) so we can enable premium features.
8. How and why we use your information
We use your information only where we have a legal basis to do so, such as:
-
To provide the Service
- Operating the App, saving your data, and syncing (when enabled).
- Showing your dashboards, reports, and AI insights.
- Sending reminders and notifications you configure.
-
To improve and secure the Service
- Debugging issues, preventing abuse and fraud, and enhancing performance.
-
To communicate with you
- Responding to support requests, sending important service notices, and sharing updates about changes to this Policy or the Terms.
-
To comply with law
- Responding to valid legal requests, enforcing our Terms, and protecting our legal rights.
We do not use your data for unrelated marketing purposes without your consent.
9. Data storage, retention, and backups
- Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure and/or on your device, depending on whether you use cloud sync or local-only mode.
- We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the Service and meet legal obligations (for example, accounting or tax rules).
- If you delete records in the App, they will be removed from the active database; they may remain for a limited time in encrypted backups until those backups expire or are rotated.
If you stop using the App, you may request deletion of your cloud account and associated data as described in Section 12.
10. Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share your information only with:
- Service providers that help us operate the App (for example, hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, notifications, subscription management, and AI providers).
- Ad partners, but only with the limited data necessary to deliver and measure in‑App ads for the free tier.
- Law enforcement or regulators, if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- Successors in a merger, acquisition, or similar transaction, subject to consistent protections.
Each provider is allowed to use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it appropriately.
11. International transfers
The App infrastructure may be hosted in Canada and/or other regions. If you access the App from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country with different data‑protection laws than your own.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (for example, contractual data‑protection clauses) when transferring data across borders.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights such as:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Restriction or objection — in some cases, object to or restrict certain types of processing.
- Consent withdrawal — where processing is based on consent (for example, certain analytics or marketing), you can withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise these rights, contact us at dvusup@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before
fulfilling your request.
You can also:
- Change or revoke OS‑level permissions (location, camera, photos, notifications, biometrics) in your device settings.
- Disable ads by subscribing to a paid, ad‑free tier (if available).
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest where supported.
- Access controls and least‑privilege practices for systems that store your data.
- Regular updates and monitoring of infrastructure.
However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, using strong passwords, and not sharing your login credentials.
14. Children’s privacy
Animal Vault is intended for adults managing farms and business records. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
If you believe we have collected data from a minor without appropriate consent, please contact us at
dvusup@gmail.com and we will investigate and delete the data where required.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document; and
- Provide additional notice in the App or by email where required by law.
Your continued use of the App after an update becomes effective means you accept the revised Policy.
16. Contact
If you have questions, requests, or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our handling of your information, you can contact:
- Email:
dvusup@gmail.com
Please include enough detail for us to understand your request and verify your identity where necessary.
